Saint John was living on Patmos as a prisoner for his faith in Jesus when He wrote this either during the reign of Nero AD 54-68 or that of Vespassian AD 69-79.
John is speaking: ‘ And there was war in heaven: Michael ( Jesus) and His angels fought against the dragon ( the devil); and the dragon and his angels didn’t prove to be more powerful, neither was there any more place for them in heaven so they were thrown out. That old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceives the whole world: he was cast out into the Earth, and his angels with him.’
Time passes
Now, Satan hates people because Christ showed them such forgiving love and pity.
Paul speaking: ‘ God was in Christ, reconciling ( bringing back) the world to Himself, not imputing (not laying the blame for something often falsely or unjustly) their sins to them but instead giving us the word reconciliation/ friendship after an argument.’ 2 Corinthians 5:19
Satan energetically tries every type of deception, so people will be in his same hopeless position.
‘ And if it seems evil for you to serve the Lord choose you this day who you will serve…’ Joshua 24 : 15
