Looking closely
It is how things come together that make one smile. A piece of cliff rock once washed over by the Atlantic Ocean when lying next to a Scandinavian pottery vase on my table looked good together. Then the Viburnum tinus that has struggled with disease is now really disease free this spring, so two twigs of that and together they are their own story. Portugal, Norway, and a plant from the garden.
Peer, stare, squinny, snoop, take in look earnestly, and scrutinise.
The flowers are pink and white. How? The buds start pink, open to soft pink flowers, which then turn white.
The veins of the leaves are like cracks on a pot fired wrong or a sheet of glass not allowed to splinter. They are round and uneven in dividing the leaf.
That piece of rock, when photographing close up, has sand granuals and circular threads like dough dried in the sun. I saw these used as creative edgings to plant beds using its natural pointed shape.
Those eyes on the pot made by Arnie, Attie, or Amie. The signature name is all going into one. A and E are only for certain. A face and a chubby body made by a potter is now in our home. How things travel and get together to make a whole!
Examine , study, observe, and take stock.
Look closely

Let us travel with look closely for one quote and then closely for three:
‘ Physical comforts cannot subdue mental suffering, and if we look closely, we can see that those who have many possessions are not necessarily happy. In fact, being wealthy often brings even more anxiety.’
Dalai Lama
And
Now for closely by Marquis de Lafayette and Antonio Porcha:
‘ The chains that bind us the most closely are the ones we have broken’
‘ The good fortune of America is closely tied to the good fortune of humanity.’
Looking closely, what makes Satan hate God? Satan questions God’s character. ( according to the Bible)
What is God’s character? What is Satan’s character?
Speaks the truth
Jesus speaking:’ I am the way the truth, and the life: no one comes to the Father but by me.’ John 14:6
Liar
Jesus speaking to the Pharisees:
‘ You are of your father, the devil, and the lust of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning and didn’t stay in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. ‘ John 8 : 44
Gives light
Jesus speaking:’ I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.’
John 8: 12
Deceives
John speaking: ‘ And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent called the Devil, and Satan which deceives the whole world.’
Revelations 12: 9
Here is a last quote I found with the others:
‘ The last great delusion is soon to open before us. Antichrist is to perform his marvellous works in our sight. So closely will the counterfeit resemble the true that it will be impossible to distinguish between them except by the Holy Scriptures.’
Ellen G. White.
I travelled from what was together on the table to something quite unexpected. It is sunny today after the morning of frost. Maybe more daffidols will open. We hope so.
Take care,
Sandy 🙂
