Travel and talk.

When you travel, you talk to this one or that one who talks to you. I very rarely talk to anyone who doesn’t talk to me. Unless it is an information question, mostly beginning with where.

So here is an example that got me thinking.

Taxi driver: ‘Do you have children?’

Me: ‘Yes.’

Taxi driver:’ Do you have grandchildren ?’

Me: ‘Yes.’

Taxi driver: ‘Something is going to happen to the world in our time, our children’s time, or your grandchildren’s time.’

Me: ‘Why?’

Taxi driver: ‘The news! It is all so bad!’

Our time in his car was over, and I thought:

‘ Where is God in all this?

Is He in or out!’ 

A full discussion is what I listened to and

here is a Biblical view that takes faith ( ‘help Thou my unbelief’)

Let us travel a while:

Where is God, and is He responsible for :

The fires

The wars

The earthquakes

The plane crashes

The floods

Let us go way back to God speaking to Adam: ‘ You ate the fruit your wife gave you, the fruit I asked you not to pick. The ground is now cursed, and in sorrow, you will eat of it all the days of your life.’

Genesis 3: 17-19

Now Paul speaking: ‘ For we know that the whole creation groans and toils in pain together…’

(Romans 8: 22)

Love gives free choice. God is love, and He gave / gives free choice. No forced love is respected nor lasting except that it may well become strong fear and hate. Satan and all the heavenly beings know love with free choice, and Satan chose another way, and Eve found him, Satan, charming. Here is a part of their chat up lines:

Eve: ‘God told me that the day I eat of the fruit, I will die.’

Satan: ‘ Ah, you will not die. You will become as the gods knowing good and evil.

Eve ate the fruit and took it to Adam, who, seeing her in all her God-given beauty, ate it too.

So they chose the charm of Satan, and here is the beginning of a controversy.

Love and another way.

So where is God now?

Here is a gardening quote from Matthew 24:32,33

Jesus speaking:

‘ Learn from the Fig tree when it puts out leaves summer is near. The same for this. When you see all these things, know that My return is near even at the door.’

What is this?

Matthew 24: 7

War

Famines

Plagues

Earthquakes

All these in different places. People won’t have much love, with even family members hating each other and people betraying each other.

But

Jesus speaking: ‘ this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world for a witness to all nations; and then the end will come.’

How will this end and coming be seen?

Jesus speaking:

‘ For as the lightning comes out of the east and shines even to the west; so will the coming of the Son of Man be.’

So, while we have all these fires, wars, earthquakes, floods, and accidents, do we let them become a nasty form of entertainment?

Paul speaking: ‘ Bear each others burdens’ …and remember these words of Jesus’ lo I am with you to the end of the world.’ Galations 6:2,Matthew 28: 20.

So,what is God responsible for?

The destruction of Satan and sin.

Both are very strong!!!

I travelled a long way  today.
