Burgau is in the western region of the Algarve. A quiet quaint town that once housed fisher folk and now looks after us, the tourists.
The colours of the town sheltered from strong winds by high cliffs are muted by grey as the sun isn’t shining. Grey is the colour that is neither hot nor cold but is refined, dignified, conservative , understated, elegant, and authoritative.
The streets
A morning spent by the sea with grey moderating the excitement of colour experienced on other brighter days in the Algarve.
In 2010, Burgau was voted by readers of the lonely Planet, the ‘quaintest beachside village in Europe’.
