Jesus speaking: ‘ There is nothing hidden that won’t be made known… what you give you will get…(this sounds reasonable), but then Jesus refers to hearing His words, to those who hear more will be given, but those who don’t that which they have will be taken .’
Mark 4 : 22-25 ( Sandy’s summary. A lot of the chapter has Jesus speaking. Mark is a book written by John Mark a cousin of Barnabus who lived for a while in Cyprus .These two worked under Peter and Paul.)

Gijón is a large coastal city in northern Spain. This is a walk along the approximately 6,000m promenade.
We are only doing 3,000m as we will need to walk that back to where Bugzy is parked. The 3,000m away from the town will have to be for another time.
The tide is coming in. The difference between high tide and low tide is 4m. The sands and rocks are disappearing slowly while:
Four teenage boys take pictures and return a silver fish hanging in evening rays back to the sea. A catch on one of their rods.
Two wildlife photographers with huge long lenses are near the rocks, one sitting wearing a red jacket, the other in green and brown, doing a commando style crawl behind some birds, which I think are stone turners.
A couple knotted up are sound asleep.
A statue in pink changes shape now and then. Ah, she is doing yoga. It is a wonderful evening, but the sea is creeping closer to her down dog.
Then, a woman my age greets me warmly. We had been in the same church this morning, not that I recognised her. We exchange greetings, hold each others warm hands tightly, and say Seventh Day Adventist. She, too, is enjoying a walk along this fine promenade.
A sand sculptor completes a work of art and engineering with water running through the arm of the carving caught and running through again. He stood back and looked pleased . Its completion is a spectical for all the Sunday visitors.
And the people of Gijón do love their town a place to be proud of by the sea.
The sea climbed the stairs the sun set. The end of another peaceful Sabbath .

Vladimir Nabokov 1899 – 1977 Russian – American
novelist, poet, and translator.
I then found out something about Vladimir Nabokov. His memoir, Speak, Memory, published in 1951, is considered among the greatest works of the 20th century, placing it eighth on Random House’s ranking of 20th century works. As amazing as all this is, I became more interested in an article about his wife. Maybe you will find it interesting too.
The Genius and Mrs Genius by Stacy Schiff The New Yorker Feb 3, 1997.
I hope you are with us as we travel on.
Take care,
Sandy 🙂
‘The day of the sun is like the day of a king. It is a promenade in the morning, a sitting on the throne at noon, a pageant in the evening.’
Beautiful saying about the sun! Love it. Enjoy your travels dear friend.
Thank you. I enjoyed that one, too. Found it just as I was ending.
