A Sabbath walk of 3.5 miles near Pinkney’s green is a wet brown path between hedges and changing trees. A soft, smoky white grey sky makes autumn burn with flames of yellow, orange, and red. A raptor flies its rusty red tail in a higher bit of sky than the trees sends its Red Kite call even higher. A yellow leaf then falls caught by the fine twig of a shrub. The high and low in brightness seen this autumn day.

Ivy has fallen with the tree ‘a step over and don’t trip’ part of the path. It belonged to the tree and had to fall but then unbelievably before us is this specimen in its thick trained growth, ivy. Look carefully at its twisted trunks against the wall, feeding all that growth. It was an unusual sight for me, but soon, we were back in the woodlands.

I like to let posts travel, and so I took the verb catch. Here are some random quotes:
Helen Keller was both blind, deaf and dumb so what she says here surprised me:
‘ Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. The fearful are caught as often as the bold .’
I wonder in what context this was said?
Then this by Ann Landers:
‘ Love is friendship that has caught fire. It is quiet understanding, mutual confidence, sharing, and forgiving. It is loyal through good and bad times. It settles with far less than perfection and makes allowances for human weaknesses.’
We have travelled a bit but now I want to consider something written by Paul. It’s about angels and Jesus. This is Hebrews 1: 1-3 , 13,14 in some of my words. (Always read things for yourself to see how you understand it. )
‘ God, who in the past spoke to us through the prophets has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, Jesus, who also made the worlds.
Who being the brightness of God’s glory, and the express image of this person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of God.
But
to which of the angels did He say ‘sit down on my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool?’
Are the angels not all ministering spirits sent to minister for them who will be heirs of salvation.’
Here are some quotes that made me think:
‘ Angels have far more to do with the human family than many suppose….As invisible agencies, angels are working through human beings to proclaim the commandments of God… It is the greatest joy of the angels to spread the shield of their tender love over people who turn to God. ‘
