Two white roses

They are almost in bloom. The garden’s only roses left on the plant. They may or may not fully open, but  we celebrate that they are here. I place them with words in between that are truly ancient.

In the year AD 185, Irenaeus wrote: ” Luke, the follower of Paul, put in a book the gospel preached by him.”

From this book of Luke, I find where the decisciples ask Jesus to do something:

” Lord, teach us to pray.”

These are the words Jesus taught them with Luke leaving out the last line that Matthew includes in what was said.

Our Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.

Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done , as in heaven, so in earth.

Give us day by day our daily bread.

And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one who is indebted to us.

And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

Luke 11: 2-4

(For Thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory, for ever.

Amen)

Matthew 6: 13

” The Lord longs to have those who seek after God believe in Him who is able to do all things.”

Happy birthday, dear Shelly.
From Sandy😘

We are sisters

who have lived

and brought up families

far apart

but

have always brought  lifes tapestry,

of joy and pain,

separate and together,

to view the richness of its colour.

Today, I remember your birth 65 years ago.

I am so glad you came into my selfish little world to make it so much bigger.

Much love

Sandy. 🙂

  1. Oh wow! Your poem made me cry. It’s SO BEAUTIFUL! So glad you’re my sister. May I share it somehow on my fb page? Thank you🥰🥰🥰

  2. I need to correct your poem 😄. You were never selfish – just the opposite. A more generous sister could never be found. 🤗
