A visit to two Acers

Jesus speaking: ‘ Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy- laden, and I will give you rest.’

Matthew 11: 28

If this was a book it would have a plot well twisted, but it's a tree...

If this was the road of life it would have unplanned and often unwanted events, but it's a tree...

If this was us dressed in red we would be going somewhere; but it's a tree  in autumn
going into winter.

If we were the age of it we would say we were wise, but we don't often live so long and well when
getting used to
twists and turns,
curls and coils.
Such surprising
complicated changes.

These two Acer trees today in October 2024.

The second Acer tree.

‘They say with age comes wisdom so therefore I don’t have wrinkles.
I have wise cracks. ‘ 🤣
Unknown

‘The beginning of love is to let those we love be perfectly themselves, and not to twist them to fit our own image. Otherwise we only love the reflection of ourselves.’

Thomas Merton

… and so the leaves fall and we watch and think and write!

Take care,

Sandy 🙂
