I think this will be the last bud on Rudbeckia. Its companion bud has not faired/fared too well. I look forward to the spring and new growth.
(Faired better or fared better?
If an adjective ( or adverb) is called for , fair is the word; if a verb is wanted, fare is the choice.
Fared
Old fashioned verb that means to succeed, experience the kind of fortune specified. That is the word I want!)
There is a surprise, too. I planted cardoon seeds a few weeks ago, which didn’t germinate, but look at these plants coming up all around the old cardoon stalk. I wonder if they are from seeds or are off shoots or both. I hope they fare well. In the far right corner of the photograh below is the Lamb’s-ear that grew in the white rose pot from seed. I guess I need to move it now that the cardoon revived itself.

Religion and a word I am learning about:

Here are two meanings and two uses:
1 Glory – kudos, renown
Here is how Jeremiah uses it.
The Lord speaking:
‘Let not
the wise man glory in his wisdom neither
let the mighty man glory in his might
Let not
the rich man glory in his riches.
But
Let him that glories glory in this
that he understands and knows Me, God. ( What about you, Lord?)
That I am the LORD which exercise
Loving-kindness
Judgement
and
Righteousness,
in the Earth: for in these things I delight ( I am happy.)’
Jeremiah 9:23-24
Here is a second use
2 Glory – sublime, splendour, grandeur, glamour.
And the sight of the glory of the LORD was like devouring fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the people… Exodus 24 : 17
And here is an amazing use of the word by John
‘ And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, ( and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth.’ John 1 : 14
( Jesus clothed His divinity in humanity.)
A response: The Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah . It is interesting to notice that covid masks are mostly in place . The date for this performance is
22 December 2021.
Take care from the garden and me.
Sandy 🙂
Those cardoons look so nice. I like the large leaves on it. Those are great verses.
I am so pleased. I wonder if I should separate the small plants now or after winter. I’m glad you liked the verses. May you have a good day.
Either time is good but if your area tends to get cold winters within the next month, then I would wait until the spring. There is enough cushion time for the plant to get over the disruption. Have a good day too, Sandy!
Thanks for that. I will take your advice both ways. Take one out now and leave the rest. Sandy 🙂
