Garden flowers: cardoon, chives, buddleia,? All purple.

Religion.

Here are some words shouted by a crowd at Paul the Apostle’s hearing at his first imprisonment.”:

” Away with such a fellow from the earth! : It is not fit ( right ) that he should live. ” Acts 22 : 22

He then was taken to Felix, a Roman governor, and this was his testimony.

” This I confess that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things written  in the law and the prophets: And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.”

Acts 24:14,15

Purple flowers

A purple group of flowers.
Someone said,
” A garden of purple is always in bloom.”

The garden had the cardoon looking ragged. I took a smaller bloom from the broken branch.  I found out that cardoons can come up each year for 10 years. This last one of three plants has come up each year for far longer than that, but who knows, it might do it 2025.  Then, the mauve pom pom flowers of the chives were still on their slender stems. They bloom from May to August, and they don’t worry, that is September. The   deep purple of a buddleia spear on a shrub still in a tub was poking through the green leaves, so I added it. Its roots play havoc with foundations, so I’m glad it hasn’t been put in position next to the house.

That’s three of the four flowers in the vase. The fourth I will paint and I don’t know what its name is

I drew a square and thought I could fit a flower in.

First, the sepals, two out of three, fitted in but not the third.

Then the violet purple petals.

Well they spilled out.

The flower was much bigger than the square!

I’ll make the square much bigger when I paint .

Or

I’ll make no square at all.

I will free it from proportions and let it grow with the movement of brush on paint.

The biggest challenge is the colour.

How do I make a vibrant

Violet – purple – mauve???

Perhaps I should try a chive flower instead.

Well, that is an easy one, but for those many, many veined petals.

So here it is. I am in more admiration of it now  than before I started.
The colour of the real is too wonderful to capture.

A small flower.
I still don’t know its name.

Here are some quotes with the word fit in:

I think the best way to deal with fitting in is to be yourself. It sounds hard, but in the end, it’s much easier than pretending to be something you are not.

Meaghan Jette Martin

In many ways, not fitting in has been a comedic asset and a comedic resource.

Jack Dee

Always remember you are absolutely unique. Just like everyone else.

Margaret Mead

And here is one for me! ”  He wrapped himself in quotations – as a beggar would enfold himself in the purple of Emperors” 🤣🤣

Rudyard Kipling

All in all,

it is nice to be in harmony

to belong

to fit in.

That’s life.

Thank you for looking.

Sandy 🙂
