Jesus speaking:” Go home and tell everyone in your town of the great things God has done for you. “
( What had God done? Jesus had set him free from many devils.)
The whole story is Luke 8 : 26-39

but memories we love linger far longer. Sandy 🙂
I write my memories mostly because I enjoy doing it, and then my children’s children may want to know what life was like ‘ long ago’.
Jacob was our spaniel, black all over with brown eyebrows, nose, and socks. He came into our lives before our spaniel we travel with, called Bess.
One evening early in December, with night already wrapped around the house, our nearly adult son with his nearly adult friend left through the front door without the latch clicking shut. Jacob, also still a long-legged, not so well coordinated young dog, had been quick to notice an opportunity for exploration. A split second gone! I noticed his long hair was not on my foot. I lept to the passage. The door was open. I ran to the gate. A car had slammed on its breaks. I crossed to be with the person standing there.
” I think I hit an animal! ”
We looked. Nothing. He parked more carefully, and in the car lights, we scanned the area. Nothing! I at some point said:
” It’s Jacob, our dog! The animal you hit, he ran out within seconds of you stopping.”
By then, there was quite a group of us looking. We looked till about 1am. The night was placing an icy lining over metal gates and lights. We were cold and thought of the worst.
Home and bed!
At about 4 a.m., with restless turning and wanting morning to come, I heard the scratch of an animal at the door. It could be…
It was. It was Jacob standing on all four brown paws looking up at me from under his brown heavy eyebrows. Those round brown eyes glistening in the porch light. He was home.

Unknown to me.
Thank you for reading.
