The three small olive trees.

Here is a thought it comes at the end of a chapter talking about the Gentiles like a grafted branch  into an olive tree, getting all the strength they need from the roots of the tree but it ends with this:

‘ Oh, how deep and rich is the wisdom and knowledge of God, how unsearchable are His judgements, and His ways past finding out!

For who knows His mind?

Or who has been His counsellor?…

For of Him,

and through Him,

and to Him,

Are all things:

To whom be glory for ever. ‘

Amen.

Romans 11: 33,34,36 (Sandy has made it her own. It is a great chapter of inclusiveness )

The three small olive trees grow in three pots.

They have been that way for years.

Each year, they get flowers followed by small fruit, black elliptical fruits.

They ask for very little, but in the 72 days we were away, one suffered.

I wondered whether with all its brown leaves lying under it if water would revive it.

It did.

The water worked. Here it is 30 days or so later.

A little miracle.

New olive leaves against the red brick wall that gives it warmth all year long!
The tree that never suffered loss.
The  leaves are darker and longer. More mature.

Then there is an older third tree, which seemed to thrive.

The third tree that thrived.

I wanted to let this travel a while with the word recover:

‘ When a deep injury is done us, we never recover until we forgive.’

Alan Paton

One olive stalk from the tree that thrives.

‘ Men (I say people) ,it has been well said think in herds, it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one.’

Charles Mackay.

A shoot at the top of the stalk of a small olive tree.

‘ Those who weep recover more quickly than those that smile.’

Jean Giraudoux

It is hot here, so we will be watering our plants outside to keep them alive.

Take care,

Sandy 🙂

Ps

I will always remember the grand tall olive trees of Syvote and Paragen Greece 2023. I took a picture of my photographs from books that Roy has made up from our blogs, each time we travel. These paper copies bring us joy!

    1. I think I bought them at Lidle they were two tiny starters. Yes, they do have olives! One friend mocked and said ” Cold pressed oil, this year? How many bottles?” They are just for looking at and I love doing that !🤣. Have a lovely day my friend!
