A Sabbath walk of 5 miles near Hambledon Buckinghamshire.

We walked  through wooded areas where pheasants were farmed, being careful to keep Bess on the lead. The paths were uphill and steep in parts. The sun and clouds made for a landscape responsive to colour changes as Hogwort and thistle mingled with the green and yellow of the grass of this time of year. August just before September in all its summer heat and ” not yet totally ready ” abundance.

Let me share the walk with a set of views and a couple of close ups.

I always say a Sabbath walk. Here are some quotes about Sabbath one from a Lutheren another a Presbyterian.

” When I had to make a decision whether or not an activity was appropriate for the Sabbath, I simply asked myself, ‘ What sign do I want to give God?’ That question made my choices about the Sabbath day crystal clear. ” Russell M. Nelson.

“If we keep the Sabbath, we start to see creation not as somewhere to get away from your ordinary life but a place to frame our attentiveness to our lives.” Eugene H. Peterston.

I then listened to what I thought was an interesting debate between Steve Gregg of the Narrow Way and Pastor Doug Bachelor of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
