A visit to Bergen

Jesus speaking: “And this is the will of Him who sent me, that everyone which seeth the Son , and believes on Him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up in the last day.” John 6:39…verse 40…last day 44…last day 54…last day. (I find this repetition interesting. It comes as part of a sermon by Jesus. He is telling the people they follow Him because He makes bread for them.)

I would like you to enjoy Nikolai Astrup’s  paintings at one of four buildings making up the lake side gallery of buildings, which are the following: Lysverket, Rasmussen Meyer, Stenersen, and Permanenten.

I chose this artist  to share with you:  Nikolai Astrup (1850 – 1928) because he was Norwegian, uses  bright colours and the depth of his paintings make me think of the layers of mountains and detail of small   ‘happenings’ in front of these massive backgrounds which I have so far appreciated and enjoyed here in Norway while photographing.

At the Stenersen, there were Indigenous Histories. It is believed that we all take an interest in world art as a story of us as people all here on world Earth. The stories in these exhibits often hinted at loss. Poor handling of the indigenous people and nature. Look a little with me.

Unfortunately, I was time limited to read as much as I might have. There were more Munch paintings and so much more.

I know humans possess an ability to recognise differences in hue saturation and luminescence  of colours, but I was getting tired. A ticket for one day for four art galleries is a difficult ask. Maybe one  gallery a day for more days.🙂

Let us go into the old town of Bergen. We discover a delightful shop. The lady working there can show you what she is making and how. Her love for what she is doing shines through in the patience she shows with questions. Let’s go through the arched doorway.
