Let us walk a little in Oslo…

We are walking over the
Akrobaten Pedestrian Bridge. Awarded first place in the European Award for Street Bridges in 2012. 206m long and by the
Oslo – based firm L2 Architects.

These buildings are framed by the bus window with contrasting patterns against a very warm blue sky.

Post Modern Architecture built between 1930 and 1950 with a break during the war.
Notice the red brick that went out of fashion to be replaced by steel and glass.
Let us go inside. Three couples are having their special day with us the public in what seems to be an open plan building. These are up in the galleries.




The paintings are of Norway and Oslo between the wars and also during the occupation.
I want you to enjoy the colours and scenes in these amazing frescos. They are a joy.

It is interesting to read about Nobel’s life. He wanted to be a poet and writer but became what his father was and wanted for him an inventor. At the age of 33, he discovered that by mixing sand with glycerin, he could make explosives more stable. It caused him some stress that what he had invented was so destructive, hence the Nobel Peace Prize, which he left for Norway to bestow.


Sweden was left to give the Nobel Prize in Physics , Chemistry, Medicine…

Yes, it has shown itself in the most warm of sunshine 🌞 something everyone appreciated. Today, we have the first of some rain but still warm. The farmlands are full of vegetables as we travel.
