Both these poems were inspired by plants . The first the Hosta comes up every year and the second I bought as a gift at the Botanical Gardens of Ventnor.
And God said: “Let the earth bring out grass, herbs producing seed and fruit trees making fruit with a seed inside, each kind of tree making its own particular kind of fruit with seed.”
It all happened and God saw that it was good.
And the evening and the morning were the third day.
Genesis 1: 11-13 ( The days of creation show a deep sense of affection between the artist, creator God and what He is making. He signs each day with a pleasurable ” I see it and it is good. ” Sandy’s enjoyment of this is intertwined with belief produced by a given faith!)

The hunger of spring
The green on top:
Vibrant,victorious,valiant
And veined!
The delicate nutrients, brittle and faint
Edible dregs from summer's past:
Dirt, clod, ground
Earth, soil, guck
Humus, colluvium, gley
The forest floor thick with what once was green
A mix of blue and siena tinged with red
A root's digestive choice.
All dirt!
Ah, yes!
Dirt cheap.
Dirt poor.
A dirt road called
Life.
The hunger of spring!

Wow, a beautiful painting ~ there is something special with art; it brings the beauty of the world around us… and the talent within us 🙂
It also leaves one more knowing…
Thought provoking poems. Deep.
