Then Jesus said to them: ‘For a little while the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, in case darkness comes around you, and those who walk in darkness do not know where they are going.’
Very sad are those that call evil good, and good evil, that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter… which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from them.
John 12 : 35 Isaiah 20,23 (Sandy’s wording. The verses in-between are also interesting.)
The found tulip.

It is in the front a double tulip with the stem a little bent but straightening fast. This morning, it has a vitality equal to its companion tulips, and as the sun comes to the metal cupboard planter, it will open more as it did yesterday.
The camas in bloom with the seven tulips.

On the opposite side, already in the sun are the camas spikes, their small flowers opening in circles of stretched out petals all in blue. The small blue flowers are more prolific than I expected.
The group of orange tulips behind the camas are special. They have bloomed in different numbers for over twenty years. They can sometimes have 17 blooms. However, last year, while we were travelling, they were cut before their leaves had dried, as were the daffidols, hence fewer flowers this year. It is so important for the leaves to feed the bulbs. Leave the flowers and the leaves on to have a good next year of blooms.
As it is said
The flower in the vase smiles, but no longer laughs.

I am sure I don’t like this quote because I love putting them in a vase. But sometimes it’s good to be told what is true.
The vase of flowers
Inside our home, the tulips in the vase have changed. They still grow when cut. Their stems get longer, and their petals take on pleasant shapes.

My appreciation of them was such that I painted lots of them, but here are two and a glowing photograph filled with warmth, which I was so happy to capture.

Time spent looking and appreciating is time not to be missed.
You can cut all the flowers, but you can’t stop spring from coming.

All the statistics in the world can’t measure the warmth of a smile.

Ah, from someone like you that means a lot. Thank you. The tulips in the old cupboard planter are great , the snails haven’t got there yet. 🙂
