“Give thanks to the Lord for He is good.” Psalm 118:1
The essence of all beautiful art, all great art, is gratitude.
Friedrich Nietzsche
Look into this photograph. Is there a tree?

Even in a world with much sadness, at its essence, life is beautiful.
Dianne Reeves

It can turn stones as big as its body searching for invertebrates.
They summer in the Arctic.
This one seems to be centring its body through the leg and not on its claws facing the wind a little puffed up.
I enjoyed observing this as I painted.
This composition appeals to me with all its textures, cement rough and smooth, and the feathers on the bird. The colours grey both light and dark, warm sandy colours with rich browns on the bird.
Exploration is really the essence of the human spirit.

Here are a few views walking through St.Ives.

Curiosity is the essence of human existence.
Who are we?
Where are we?
Where do we come from?
Where are we going?
I don’t know. I don’t have any answers to those questions. I don’t know what is over there around the corner. But I want to find out.
Gene Cernan (American astronaut. During the Apollo 17 mission, Cernan became the 11th human being to walk on the moon.)
My trust/ faith/belief is in the Bible. God’s revelation of Himself through people’s experiences, prophecy and most of all Jesus. Here are the places I find the answers:
Who are we? Romans 8:17 (God’s children)
Where are we? Daniel 2 (A prophetic explanation)
Where do we come from? Genesis 1:1 (In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth…)
Where are we going? Heaven (Revelation 1:7) 1000 years there in heaven (Revelation 20 ) then back to earth where God makes this world His ‘capital’.
Sandy’s understanding. My faith, trust, and belief.
Time will tell. The most important thing is how we live in a relationship with God and others.
This post is travelling. I am following the word essence and found this:
Society can not exist without law . Law is the bond of society: that which makes it, that which preserves it and keeps it together. It is, in fact, the essence of civil society.
Joseph. P. Bradley.
I guess the Bible answer to that is Exodus 20 : 1 -17 (The 10 Commandments.)
I asked myself what the essence was of my visit to this Cornish town, and after seeing the legacy of artists, my post went along this road… As Aristotle said: ” The energy of the mind is the essence of life.”
We will soon be home.
Take care.
Sandy 🙂
