Jesus is speaking : Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you: not as the world gives it do I give it to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. The Comforter the Holy Spirit will teach you and help you remember what I have said.
John 15: 27, then 26 ( Sandy’s understanding)

When the sky is grey
And you feel your day is gloom
Remember in it could be mixed
Yellow and purple
Blue and orange
Or
Black and white
Not just grey but a medley, so greet the day!
And who knows what else could come from that greyness
Red, yellow, and blue
Mixing paint and watching it change is a pleasure.
Every artist dips his brush in his/ her own soul and paints his/ her own nature into his/ her pictures.
Henry Ward Beecher
Then another way of saying it:
Painting is a blind man’s profession. He paints not what he sees but what he feels .What he tells himself about what he has seen.
Pablo Picaso

We have blue tits visiting the bird bath, but I haven’t caught them on camera with their quick movements. What draws ones attention is the sulphur yellow of their abdomen.
It is said to come from a carotene pigment in their diet of yellow-green caterpillars. They like to live in woodlands with a high proportion of oak trees and make sure their young hatch when the tender oak shoots come out.

So yes, I mixed the colours to make the grey. Enjoyed the bird colours to paint a ‘feathery’ cover of the white canvas then let the minature daffidols, with their ‘let’s fly away ‘ petals, come into the picture supported by a chipped but not broken vase. (My post -Mint stalks 2023 and minature daffidols.)
In painting feathers, you want to create a look of feathers, but if you try to paint all the feathers, you have nothing but disaster.

Take care,

A lovely post, Sandy! I especially love Picaso’s quote. I am always in search of color to brighten my day, it is always there when we look for it in nature!
Thank you😊
Thank you, Donna. Nature is a go-to for so much joy and creativity.
