Outside and Inside

Outside

The daffidol bulbs are up. They are coming through the old rotting fig tree leaves.

A distant bare poplar stands tall against an evergreen, and there only when you kneel and look up can you see the shy bud of a sturdy Hellebore.

The Hellebore looks like it has just opened from darkness into this grey wet place. Its garden.

” Beauty is how you feel inside and reflects in your eyes. It is not something physical.”

Says Sophia Loren.

Lord thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth or even thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting thou art God.

Psalms 90 : 1,2

Inside

The warmth inside the house has enabled the Ameryllis from before Christmas to grow and open slowly.

All four buds are very nearly open. Nature took its time. Not our time. No unwrapping with our hasty fingers . Slow but sure it is still coming to its full count of four for 2024.

In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved on the face of the water.

Genesis 1: 1,2

Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live.

Norman Cousins

Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power, for thou hast created all things , and for thy pleasure they are created.

Rev 4:11

To end the road, this post is travelling a sculptor and an artist speak:

Every block of stone has a statue inside it and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it.

Michelangelo

How can I be useful, of what service can I be? There is something inside me, what can it be ?

Vincent Van Gogh.

Thanks for travelling a while, through quotes, and not all the expressions of my own thoughts . I always think there must be room for yours.

Take care.

Sandy 🙂

  1. Great artists asked this question..what’s inside? Curious minds do discover it eventually…if you keep looking and searching. Loved your post Sandy😀
