A poem/ rambling of thinking: from 3 January 2023

For the Lord is good; His mercy endures forever, and His faithfulness to all generations.

Psalm 100 : 5
I planted three rooting mint stalks
Simply growing in water since the last week in
October 2023.
The three stalks in a mug painted by me.
I took down the Christmas decorations
Carefully, thoughtfully
One at a time.

Let me remind you it is wet and grey
We all got wet but we saw the new trees in the meadow.
So what? What about all that?
So here are my thoughts.

Mint grows roots from stalks
Babies come from wombs.

It was 3 January 2024 yesterday
On 3 January 1924, my dear mother-in- law Dorothy was born

She writes: "Not an easy birth my mother was kept in bed for a month afterwards as she was told she had a weak heart.
The private nurse put me out in my pram in the snow,
which gave me a cold
at a few days old.

My Dad was 29 and my mother 30."

This coming of an 8 1/2 lb baby remained the only child.

My dear mother-in- law Dorothy. Born near Huby York.
Yes, it was 2024 3 January
But we remember that you would have been 100 and are genetically part of your grandchildren and great grandchildren.

How wonderful is that!
No stalk and root but flesh and blood.

Our personal mirical.

I will add this to my memories. A day to remember Dorothy.

Take care .

Sandy 🙂

  1. Dorothy was a lovely lady. I remember her beautiful blue eyes clearly when we went to visit her in hospital 💕
