Flowers and a town

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for His steadfast love endures forever.

1 Chrinicles 16:34

There they were a bunch of thistles in the Christmas market stall. I planted some and wrote about them in my post: Crocosmia, thistles, and Verbena. The verbena did well, the crocosmia didn’t flower, and the thistles died. The shopkeeper told me that if the thistles were growing in her garden, she would pull them out. Now, I paid the market stall holder £7 for a bunch and brought them home.

I filled a jar with lavender flowers and a few stalks and a bit of holly with red berries. These are all from our summer and winter garden, respectively. Oh, and oil poppy seed pods from the large red flowers that grew during covid. ( there is a post on them too.) I then added my bought – thistles with cotton from a post I made in 2020 and some stalks of mountain tea from a bunch I brought back from Greece, and here is what it looks like.

One of seven jars to give away.

Now, let’s go down a street from the Christmas market where I bought the purple bunch of prickles to a fascinating place.

There , we have walked in . Not a museum! An ordered place. I wonder what you would find fascinating ? Would you buy anything in here as a Christmas present?

It was soon lunch and across from the market was a small new Persian restaurant. Here, my choice was soup and bread. I think this was my first experience of Persian food.

Thank you for being with me.

Sandy 🙂

Here are a few thoughts about gratitude:

Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.

William Arthur Ward

At times, our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has a cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.

Albert Schweitzer

The essence of all beautiful art, all great art, is gratitude.

Friedrich Nietzsche

  1. One’s weed is another’s love of nature. Another lovely flower arrangement! We love wandering around stores of ‘unique’ old things, I can always find something I like, hehe. I do love the hanging aqua glass light fixture in your pic #3, I’d be checking that out for sure to find out how much! 😉
