Tortured willow

I, Jesus, am talking to those who hear: Love your enemies, do good to them that hate you…

Luke 6:27
The tortured willow holding on to many green leaves.

The willow symbolises flexibility. Many see it as symbolic of humans’ capability to withstand hardship, loss, and difficult emotions. It also represents survival and rebirth as it has a long life and grows roots from cuttings easily, but the tree that has these leaves is a tortured willow. I didn’t expect to follow this road, but looking at what has been said about torture kept me reading and sharing…

Guilt is cancer. Guilt will confine you, torture you destroy you as an artist. It’s a black wall. It’s a thief.

David Grohl

The healthy person does not torture others – generally it is the tortured who turns into the torturers.

Carl Jung

The torture of a bad conscience is the hell of a living soul.

John Calvin

Reading some more, I was surprised by this prediction by Thomas A. Edison.

The curve of tortured leaves in greys.

” There will one day spring from the brain of science a machine or force so fearful in its potentialities, so absolutely terrifying, that even man , the fighter, who will dare torture and death in order to inflict torture and death, will be appalled, and so abandon war forever.”

I had to think AI?

Thomas A. Edison( There has been a turn in the road. The child in me loved this History of Thomas Edison for kids” it ends so beautifully.)

Bless those that curse you, and pray for those who despitefully use you.
Luke 6 : 28

I travelled with this post to unexpected places. I hope you found it interesting. Take care.
