Lisianthus

Be kind to (yourself) and to each other.

Ephesians 4:32

Lisianthus imported from a warm country . They usually grow in grasslands in countries like the USA, Mexico, and the Caribbean. They need some special care:

Cut the stems at 45 degrees.

Change the water every two days.

Keep out of direct sunlight.

They represent charisma and congeniality. These are pink for charm.

I enjoyed sitting looking at the Lisanthus flowers for a while.  Painting their very straight stems, which I made wiggle and their delicate petals was an adventure into nature’s challenging beauty.

The charm of history and its enigmatic lesson consists in the fact that, from age to age , nothing changes and yet everything is completely different.

Aldous Huxley ( 1894 – 1963 English writer and philosopher) I would humbly put the word nature in as replacement for history. Both for me are true.
“There is no charm equal to tenderness of heart.” Jane Austen

A few more quotes from Aldous Huxley:

The secret of genius is to carry the spirit of the child into old age, which means never losing your enthusiasm.

Experience is not what happens to you; it’s what you do with what happens to you.

It is a bit embarrassing to have been concerned with the human problem all one’s life and find at the end that one has no more to offer by way of advice than ‘ try to be a little kinder.’

I hope you have a great weekend.

  1. What a lovely post Sandy and the painting of your flowers are very beautiful! Thanks for sharing! Enjoy the weekend🌸

    1. Ah, when I started painting with the pink it was a challenge to notice how many ‘shades’/ ‘lightnesses’ there were in just one colour. Those flowers are gorgeous. Thank you for appreciating my attempt with paint.🙂
