I saw another angel fly in the middle of the sky, and this angel had the Everlasting Gospel to preach to us living on the Earth. It was for every

Everyone.
And this is what the angel said:
” Fear God
Give Him glory
For the hour of judgement is come:
and worship Him that made
heaven,
earth,
and
the fountains of waters.”
Revelations 14: 6-7 (Partly Sandy’s wording)
What is the Everlasting Gospel ?
For by grace are you saved through faith: and that not of yourselves it is the gift of God: not of works, incase people start boasting .
For we are made by Him,
created in Jesus to do good works,
which God arranged for us to do.
Ephesians 2: 8-9 (Sandy’s understanding)
Travelling as we have this year has naturally let us notice things that seem similar. Here is an example: I have noticed that ruins often have a ‘signature flower’, and the ruins of Seleukeia/ Lybre had their autumn one. Drimia ( maritima / numidica/ attissima/pancration)

This plant had only its inflorescence of about 1m. No leaves were present. It was growing in a rocky area and was a joy to see where so much beauty had been destroyed by fire. I found out that the bulb can be 20 cm wide and weigh 1kg. The leaves usually ten are each up to 1m long, dark green and leathery. They all die away by autumn, and that is why we saw a tall, narrow raceme of flowers.
Then, on another day, travelling, we were introduced to a plant cultivated rather than wild the banana tree.

A variety that is thin-skinned , sweet, and small.
They are rich in Vitamin C and B5 with lesser quantities of A, E and K.
They are high in minerals such as magnesium, manganese ,calcium, and zinc.
I was surprised to learn that this is a perennial herb not a tree and that leaf stalks ( as seen on the left in my photo ) grow straight up from the soil and new leaves emerge from the center. The fuchsia colour of the large flowers against the long fronded green leaves was a graceful site with the old plants left on the ground to feed the soil.
As these plantations were on our way to the Dimcay River, which flows from the Taurus Mountains to the sea, 8km east of Alanya, we were soon able to swim in the cold clear water of this river.

traditional Turkish style sitting pergolas.
The swimming area is in the centre.
You had to be courageous to go in with its
burning sensation as it goes over your warm skin,
a pleasant experience for me,
but
clearly no one else.
Here are some thoughts about cold water.
If you tiptoe into cold water, you’re missing out on the rush of plunging in head first.
Rumours are like ligtening on summer tinder, producing flames that dance in flickering brilliance from person to person, sometimes flaring in great conflagrations of exaggeration before finally extinguishing themselves in the cold water of fact.

This post has travelled as we travelled a week ago. We are home as I write about our experience in Turkiye .
Sandy 🙂
Beautiful post
Thank you.
Lovely photos, and I’m excited to hear about your journey through Turkey, Sandy.
Thank you, Mary. It was a week in this lovely country with 14 friends from our Sabbath walking group, so I guess only have 2 more posts. It would be lovely to travel there more another time.
