I often grow a new plant in a bucket with holes in the bottom of course. Behind are young gladioli corms starting from marble size they take about five years to be mature. They are getting bigger every year in the bucket behind.

Dreaming buds still closed on top
Elivated above its
Leaves of
Pleasing soft whitegreen with
Horns like antlers
In disarray
Neatly held dolphin shaped flowers
In chronogical order
Unbelievably peachpinklemonwhite
My garden’s plant in a bucket.

The name Delphinium comes from the Greek word delphinion which means dolphin. Dioscorides said the plant got its name because of its dolphin shaped flower but so who was Dioscorides. He was the surgeon to the Roman empra Nero and during his travels with Nero he took the opportunity to study the features, distribution and medicinal properties of many plants and minerals. He was born in AD 40 and is known as “the father of pharmacogrossy”. He is the author of De Materia Medica, a 5 volume Greek encyclopedia. Here is something Dioscorides said:
Nature will never follow people but people will have to follow the laws of nature
Dioscorides
God said: Let us make man in our image , after our likeness, and let them have dominion over all the earth…
Genesis 1: 26,27
And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth , and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And GOD was sorry He had made man on the earth, and this grieved him at his heart. And the Lord said I will destroy man that I have created and all creatures. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord…
Genesis 6 : 5-8

You are most welcome!
Beautiful words and stunning flowers, Sandy!
Thank you. Those flowers are intriguing looking at them now they are tinged with blue where the yellow was. Especially the lower ones. So individual.
