Pozar and Karanos both waterfalls.

As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you my God.

Psalm 42: 1
At the foot of Mount Kaimaktsalan are the Pozar thermal baths the closest town being Loutraki.
In the picture water on the right is 37 degrees celcius and that on the left is ice cold.
People were enjoying both.
There are three pools.
Paths up the mountain follow this lively river that has carved its bed through grey rock.

Leaving these warm springs the plains of Aridaia and Giannitsa are full of cherry orchards. People were busy picking and trucks were loaded with trays. As a joke some young pickers were offering to throw some into Bugsy. They were enormous in size and very sweet. It was a drive of 20 miles to the next water falls.

A different more forceful awe inspiring fall of water, 5-10m³ of water per second leaves spray and coolness in its path, an urban waterfall in Edessa.

The falls are a natural phenomenon caused by an earthquake in the 14th Century

The water from the river Edessaious is tamed in a canal as it rushes through the town and then leaps over several cliffs.

Behind this curtain of water are unusual caves.
The information board calls them primary exploited caves quite rare in Greece.

Here are a couple of jokes:

What is the best waterfall joke?

The one that does not have any downfalls.

How do you make a water bed bouncier?

By using spring water.

Bugzy will be having front break pads replaced and I think our shoes are wearing out! All feeling weary tonight.

Sandy 🙂

  1. Wow, you can see the force of the water flowing down through the town, must be amazing to see in person! The cave looks surreal, it’d be interesting to see deep inside. Beautiful photos, Sandy!

    1. They taped off a good section getting narrower and very wet so we were limited. It is the largest urban waterfall in Europe. They use the area between the small water falls in different ways: how flour was milled
