Looking at the Arch of Hadrian. His name on one side and Theseus on the other side. Both names found facing in opposite directions. Both named as founders of Athens.
The marble used in the arch is not of the same high grade as that in the best Athenian buildings. It is Pentelic marble from Mount Pentelikon 18.2 km northeast of the arch.



It had a garden and a pool of water so they say.
The books were rolls of papyrus .
The name Hadrian again just like the wall in England running from
Wallsend on the river Tyne in the east to
Browness-on-Solway.
He was a busy man.

The Melina Mercouri Monument.
She was the former
Minister of Culture and Sports
for Greece 1981-1989 then 1993 till she died in 1994.
Melina Mercouri was also an actress, singer and activist.

There is so much to choose from on the Web when it comes to a city like Athens. Here is how I saw it! It was humid but once it rained the air seemed lighter .
