Koroni

God was in Christ, making the world right for Himself ,God.

2Corinthians 5:19.(Sandy’s understanding)

It happened like this. We had been following the satnav successfully when we suddenly found ourselves in a place of no return. I rolled down my side of Bugzy’s window to be told: “You are not allowed to do this. ” We were in a street that had narrowed drastically. The man who warned us parked his car , persuaded a man in a good position to start reversing in a meaningful way so that three cars behind him also started reversing, all with the intention of getting us to a wider section of road ahead, which we did. Once we got Bugsy there there was a lorry coming down. A taxi driver then took over directing the lorry and us as we took a sharp corner to the right. A wish that we didn’t scrape anything and we were on a bigger road. I did see a police car but I guess he realised that the residents of Koroni had kindly sorted us out. The camp sight was then just a few hundred meters ahead. This was our first encounter with this Peleponnese town.

Balconies, potted plants and bougainvillea.
Then further along on the walk to the town are some beach houses, two owned by elderly folk.
Looking into the picture on the right you will see an outdoor kitchen to the left is the open sea. The elderly lady who works in it really loves Koroni.
Upside down but still in water.

I’m always trying to turn things upside down and see if they look any better.

Tibor Kalman ( 1949-1999 He was an American graphic designer of Hungarian origin well known for being the editor- in- chief for Benetton’ s Colors magazine focusing on multiculturalism.)

Learn to see things backwards, inside out, and upside down.

John Heider (193… – 2010 Clinical Psychogist… he also said ” if you want to be free learn to live simply.”)

Love sometimes wants to do us a great favour : hold us upside down and shake all the nonsense out.

Hafez (1325- 1390 Persian lyric poet whose collected works are regarded by many Iranians as a pinnacle of Persian literature.)
Koroni has an old part with Venetian walls sadly they are falling outwards towards the sea.
Large chunks of wall in different places not just as seen in this picture.

Above these walls are olive trees a few churches one of which I felt had character in its raw state.

It is warm and we are happy to share Koroni. The people are kind to folk like us!

  1. What a cute little town. It must be quite comforting to live in a cosy place like that.
Love you upside down shell arrangement😁

  2. The kindness of people never ceases to amaze me – especially when all we usually hear about are the not-so-kind people. I’m glad you got Bugsy out of the jam safely. Your photo of the flower arrangement is so clever – love the seashells in the bottom of the glass.

  3. Warm and beautiful blue skies 🤗Very interesting towns you are visiting down narrow roads🤦‍♀️So very brave as well. I agree that love tends to shake us to get the nonsense out😄🤣
