Travel to Verona from Brixen.

Early on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene finds Jesus gone. She is in distress. ‘They have stolen Him!’ … She was crying outside the tomb when Jesus chose her to show Himself to. The risen Lord. Our Lord, now in Heaven a person representing us. He knows our trials and with His stripes we are healed.

John 20: 1-18 is where this happening is told so beautifully. So full of kindness and love .

Bressanone/ Brixen to Verona

Leaving Brixen with its street markets selling Po valley vegetables, dried apple, cheese and meats and our parking area near the river our next night stop was Verona. It was a large parking area next to the sports stadium from here we caught the bus into Verona.

The mountains and then…
The valleys with row upon row of apple trees.
Kept short with limbs held straight out to the side .
A wide vine like apple tree to make it easy for picking.

A short walk in Verona

Here they are in Verona.
Her skirt frills all in nude pink .
Will there be a moment for them and their future this weekend?

But soft, what light through yonder window breaks? It is the East, and Juliet is the sun.

Romeo
Along the road they walk.
Not quite in step but heads a little bowed in thought or words.
Do they know the way?

My bounty is as boundless as the sea, my love as deep. The more I give to thee, the more I have, for both are infinite. Juliet.

The couple lost in the crowd forever gone.
Here is the courtyard.
Juliet’s tiny balcony to the right.
A 14th Century residence
all made famous by
William Shakespeare.
Romeo and Juliet ,
one of his early plays , most quoted, most performed.
Juliet’s statue with chest all bright.
Many hands have touched her here.
It is said to bring good luck.

What must be shall be. Juliet

He that is stricken blind cannot forget the precious treasure of his eyesight lost. Romeo

A taxi please.
This Verona , my home town, is too busy over Easter.
I have bought what I need from the markets.
Peace is now what I want.

He successfully gets the taxi ,
gets in and I watch.
He is gone forever.

Wisely and slow; they stumble that run fast.

Shakespear’s Romeo and Juliet
Our sky our time but there was a lot of time before…

Here is a link I found interesting Verona history and literature. I found it helpful in placing this ancient city respectfully in time past, with not just the current markets and people enjoying Verona with us.

Thank you for looking at this post. We are tired tonight as we have chosen to spend a lot of time travelling.
