A Sabbath cycle in Toledo

The story of the Last Supper on the night before Christ’s crucifixion is reported in four books of the new testament.

Matthew 26: 17-29, Mark 14: 12-25, Luke22: 7-38, 1 Corinthians 11: 23-25
We had been cycling from the campsite for quite a while and were crossing the Tagus Tajo river when my handle bars became loose. Roy returned to camp to get an alan key to tighten them while I took pictures from the modern bridge looking towards the old. We then cycled round the lower walls of Toledo. The pavements are smooth then rough in places. The roads have a lot of traffic the up and down hills are steep then we entered a church…
…where we experienced a heartfelt commitment to Christ in the form of a baptisim by immersion. They didn’t have a built in font for the pastor and candidate to be in the water together but this didn’t detract from the serious commitment or joy in the moment. An intriguing couple, who translated the service then took us to their home for lunch. Following the meal we returned for an Agape supper where we washed each others feet and ate together. It was quite different from what I am used to.

Our Sabbath cycle was hard going but the people we met were hospitable to us strangers. We felt well loved. Thank you for reading my post. Be reassured, as I am, that language is no barrier to love.
