At Swadini Blyde River Canyon located in Mpumulanga . These mountains form the North part of the Drakensberg escarpment.The boat is on the Blyde River Canyon dam. The dam was wall was designed by a French lady and built in1975. There have been heavy rains and the dam is full.In the distance you can see the Three Rondawels. These are huge pinnacles of rock rising above Blyde River Canyon below.A crocodile lies sunning itself on a rock. The water is brownish in colour as we have had a lot rain and the water is spilling over the dam wall.THE WEEPING FACE OF NATURE Look carefully and you will see a face. This is a tufa falls. A tufa falls is formed when water running over Dolomite rock absorbs calcium, and deposits rock formations more rapidly than they erode the surrounding rock, in the case of the Cadisha Tufa fall the formation resembles a face crying profusely.Looking at the mountains from the back of the boat. We had a large number of hippos coming up for air here and there.An experience of such memorable wild beauty.A path back…
