White flowers and upturned roots

If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldst ask of Him, and he would have given thee living water… Jesus said whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst…the water I give shall be a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Hollyhock flowers, the last from my garden. Wild Angelica from our road side and Buddleia from an
old shrub.

The map of the Thames reminds us of hours and days walking its length. We always returned to where we had stopped the last time. I still feel thrilled to walk along this ancient historical river.

I cut off the flowers and Bess brought in the roots
Time to fluff out the roots.
Bessy – inspired arrangement. Cardoons and corn tassels saved from earlier displays and then for Bess the beautiful Hollyhock roots brought inside by her. The vase was a gift from a friend who knew I loved sunshine.
