July, August and September how do you show these warm months. Here are three photographs. It is the ordinary about each that is extraordinary.

Ordinary lavender with scabious. Extraordinarily all three stalks bend to the heat differently.

A lily and a nasturtium bloom together. The extraordinary for our garden and the ordinary.

Then this Amerilla that rebloomed while we were travelling and dried with the heat. The bulb was a gift from dear friends at Christmas probably 2023. I remember I got up in the night with a fever and spent time painting it. After all these years it bloomed and this is all I saw in 2026. A long ago gift and a reminder that nature is not tied to our time.
A warm few months at home, the ordinary and extraordinary.
But
Ordinary is who I am.
Sandy and ordinary go together like the peel on an orange tightly held
Or
Like petals held to a center haphazardly mingle in the breeze.
Sandy and funny go together like a duck on the water not knowing which webbed foot to drag back or pull forward.
Sandy and religion go together as dust and air. That which is seen and runs between ones fingers like time moving fast. And that which is unseen but moves things in ways unimaginable.
Sandy with a context is exceptional.
Sandy without context is the norm, neither here nor there a favourite space.
Our times our seasons.
Our common ordinary humanity.

The winding road with an unknown horizon.
Take care,
Sandy 🙂
