The dry ferns not from autumn but rather the four heat waves. Ones I never watered. Dock and wild carrot gone to seed early with one new flower, then fuchsia in two tones, cerise and purple. A mixed arrangement of fresh and dry. One that will not last.
But this is not what I have been thinking about although I was really pleased to see that a young tree in the meadow was alive.

Here is what my thoughts have been travelling with after watching a WP ‘ film’ from a blogger.
My question was : ‘Would it be ethical for a machine to read your memory/ thoughts?’
Would I as a Christian find this acceptable?
Here is my thought journey. I started with God speaking:
Don’t even consider them that have familiar spirits, neither look for wizards to be made filthy by them: I am the LORD.
Leviticus 19:31
And then this:
Don’t let your children walk through the fire or use divination, or an observer of time, or an enchanter,or a witch, or a charmer, or a consultar with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
For all who do these things are an abomination.
Deuteronomy 18:10-12
Then where was an example when magicians were asked to read a person’s mind. Daniel 2 has the event.
Here is what their answer was when asked to reveal a dream that the king had and couldn’t remember.
‘There is not a person upon the earth that can shew the king’s matter: therefore there is no king, lord, nor ruler, that asked such things from any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean.’
God then gives Daniel the same dream with its meaning.
So who knows our thoughts?
‘ The LORD knows the thoughts of man…’
Psalm 94:11
Then this:
‘ Oh LORD, You search me, and know me and know my ways.’
And Jesus reads the thoughts of the scribes. This is how the conversation went:
Jesus speaking: ‘Son, be happy, your sins are forgiven.’
Scribes thinking but not saying: This man is blaspheming.
And Jesus knowing their thoughts said: ‘Why are you thinking evil? Is it easier to say your sins are forgiven or get up and walk.’
Jesus then told the man sick with palsy, and lying on a bed to get up, pick up his bed, and walk home.
Jesus knew thoughts again when He healed a withered hand on the Sabbath.
‘ But He knew the thoughts of the scribes and Pharisees that they wanted to accuse Him of healing on the Sabbath. ‘
Luke 6:8
Which lead to two questions:
Is it lawful to do good or evil on the sabbath day?
To save life or destroy it?
He then healed the person and they were filled with madness!
So where am I heading on this journey? Am I near to an answer?
If God is adamant about not using spirits, would He be as adamant with the use of AI making my past known to me and that of my reaction to it to an employer?
Personally I believe He would regard this as an abomination. This word abomination has some other words which describe it well: extreme disgust, deep disapproval, hatred, disgrace, monstrosity…

Take care and thank you for thinking with me. It may be a reality we have to all consider.
Sandy 🙂
