A cuas

A cuas is an Irish word for a small tidal inlet. They are found throughout southwest Ireland the plural is cuasa. We with others had the joy of being parked in the company of one. Here are three photographs and below each some words about what love is.

Love suffers long, and is kind…

Love celebrates what is true…

…bears all things, hopes and endures. 1 Corinthians 13 ( The words used to say what love does.)

Now looking more closely at the river’s own island. Here are my thoughts:

It is its own world, own white lichen on cracked hard grey rock, own vegetation in browns, yellows, greens. Fine and slim for grasses and rounded in different ways for the rest. It is its own,its own island.

It has its size. It has its shape. Its proven strength. Its position unmoved by times of tide and weather river levels.

An island in time.

So why did I lose its significance when I enjoyed the scene with pastels? I don’t really know. Why did it blurr? Why wasn’t it strong and big? It just wasn’t significant for me in the whole.

A time spent by a cuas.

When in Norway I got fjord wrong and this Irish word may be wrong too. Both are waters controlled by the sea.

It is lovely here.

But

What is sin?

God speaking to Satan:

‘ You were perfect in what you did from the time you were created till sin/iniquity was found in you. ( this is how you changed) You became proud because of your beauty, you corrupted your wisdom because of your brightness… I will cast you to the ground… I will bring a fire out from the middle of you, it will devour you, and I will bring you to ashes on the earth in the sight of them that see you… people who know you will be astonished; you will be frightening to see and never will you be any more.’ ( My summary of Ezekiel 28: 11 -19 The Origin and Destiny of Satan.)

God and us and satan. So much to be said but mostly seen in actions.

Take care,

Sandy 🙂
