To start a verse about strangers written by Moses as God speaking. I found this intersting:
If a stranger stays with you in your land, you will not annoy/irritate or distress them with petty provocations. They will be as one born among you, and you will love them as yourself.
Leviticud 19:33,34
One law/decree/ rule will be both for you of the congregation and for the stranger that stays with you… as you are , so shall the stranger be before the Lord.
Numbers 15:15.
I believe ‘law’to be that of the ten commandments given by God on Mount Sinai.
Let us go into the town.
A town surrounded by forest with some thoughts.
Question here: Where were we at midday and then early the next morning?
Answer: The comfortably busy, typical Münsterland town of Haltern Am See and the evening in a deserted, legal to park Bugzy, car park almost in a forest. Where did we find ourselves by 10 am? Surrounded by cars, with busy people leaving them for their various activities of the day.
Here is Haltern Am See, a church at its centre with roads splayed out. There are restraunt umbrellas and chairs and a little way away a fountain with figures created by Hermann Kunkler in 1989. The abstract figures represent the historical and rural identity of Haltern Am See.

A church, red restaurant umbrellas and figures at a fountain. A midday photograph. I only notice a union jack now. From this point the streets go out but what do I see?

A florest shop display. There are other shops like dress shops with reduced rails on the pavement and people gathering to eat. We also eat. A very healthy baked potato with yogurt poured into its hollow, with a tiny metal fork and spoon protruding. There is also a heap of healthily dressed salad on the long oval type plate. We soon leave the centre of Hattern well satisfied and go into the forest area that surrounds this rural town. It is the Nature Park Hohe, and this is where we spend the evening and the morning.
Here are some quotes using the word forest as I share the 8 am photographs of Hohe.

Bugzy, almost alone through the night but for three other travelers, now with cars parked around it.
‘ You can’t stay in your corner of the forest waiting for others to come to you. You have to go to them sometimes.’
A. A. Milne
They came to us in this case!🤣

A forest bird never wants a cage.

Notice the Biblical statue. We are fortunate to be surrounded by a Catholic Mission ensconced in beautiful surroundings.

A lovely nook of forest scenery, or a good rock, like a beautiful woman, depends for much of its attractiveness upon the attendance sense of freedom from whatever is low; upon a sense of purity and of romance.
P.T. Barnum

If a man is talking in the forest, and there is no woman there to hear him, is he still wrong? 🤣🤣

We left this idealic spot and travelled a while through dappled shade and fields of wheat planted at different times.
A sunlit drive.

The florescent green of heads of slowly ripening ears look strange on blue-green stalks. A colour combination noticed and appreciated.
It is the mind which creates the world around us, and even though we stand side by side in the same ‘ field ‘ ( meadow), my eyes will never see what is beheld by yours, my heart will never stir to the emotions with which yours is touched.

Take care,
Sandy 🙂
Ps
Flowers from home. The buds photographed when we left have bloomed.

Thank you Eric, our son, for keeping us in touch with the garden. The sweet Williams in white, cerise, and pale pink grown from seed 2024 are blooming now 2026. Nature draws one on through the years.
