Here is God speaking through Isaiah sometime between 750-739BC.
If you don’t do as you please for pleasure, on My holy day and do not speak about normal every day business and call the sabbath a delight, holy for the LORD, honourable, and You honour Me (God), then you will make Me happy, and I will cause you to have victory over obstacles, and flourish in the secure promises of God. (to ride on the heights). Read what Isaiah actually says in Isaiah 58:13. I have made it my own. This seems to be an if clause from God worth testing.
God says taste and see that I am good.
This post will have photographs from a cycle ride in the Münsterland area. It will also take in the moated castle of Raesfeld with its fine church.
Münsterland is 6,000 square kilometers of scenic predominantly park landscape; hedges, woodlands and meadows.
It is bordered by the Netherlands on the west, Lower Saxony to the north, Ruhr area to the south.
Lets look at the country side from our bikes. Towns here in Germany have good information centres, cycling maps are excellent and the paths are well marked and signed. You won’t be disappointed. The tracks were well shaded for most of the time and the open narrow tarred roads well edged with trees.

Trees touching trees, woodland that breathed coolness with deep shade in parts.

The birds didn’t stop their conversations for us they were particularly vocal. Its May!

Open farmland with a lot of grass being cut, both on the sides of the road and in the meadows.
Then there was this heron and he did catch the fish a silent statue in the moat of Raesfield Castle. Rabodo von dem Berge was documented as the lord of the castle between 1168 and 1174. He was the one to have the church built and have it dedicated to St. Martin. Today the castle is the training facility of the Chambers of Crafts. It houses a restaurant/ wedding venue and rather nice wedding dresses on display.

The heron looking into the moat well- covered by water lilies.

Raesfeld in strong sunshine. A moat bridge under the tree.

St. Martin church with dappled light. Small and intimate.
Now for some of natures arrangements taken along the route. Short in the front and a crop at the back. Probably wheat.

Edging of poppies with wheat behind.

Many daisies in front of wheat and then a display carefully marked and placed. These are trees/logs in front of trees. I wonder what their destiny is?

And then these oriental poppies taken as photographs, all from the same plant when I stopped to take a rest. A garden in passing when it was midday.

Poppy definitely coming into a very hot day.

Petals opening or frazzled by the sun.

Seed head and petals ready to fly.
A beautiful cycle in Münsterland on a very hot day in May.
Some thoughts about cycling:
Cycling is low-impact, which is why people cycle into their 70s or 80s, but track cycling means hard gym work and crashes.
Chris Hoy (six times British Olympic champion.)
And
It was cycling that got me off drugs. I’d get on my bike early in the morning and keep cycling until very late at night, day after day, until it was out of my system.
Shaun Ryder (English singer and song writer. )
Another beautiful day, in our beautiful world. Germany this time.
Take care,
Sandy 🙂

A photograph sent from our pond at home. The yellow flag iris has never bloomed before and it has at last, after many years. I’m so pleased.
