… on two sides of the German: Rhein, Dutch: Rijn, French: Le Rhin, Latin: Rhenus.
A ferry and a bridge and Saturday/ Sabbath service, to worship for a while, made for a pleasant circular trip.
How different can these river banks be? Both sides with some cut grass fields, buttercup, clover and daisies all out in mass with the sudden heat.
The differences: more water in an inland area for water birds, two separate stork nest with young ones being tended to. Less of the up high riding on a bank of earth allowing for views of the river but more farmsteads and livestock, especially fat, wooly ewes with their lambs.
Here are six photographs I took, we have done this trip twice, which ones I use I am not sure.
Under each is a German saying and a verse about growing spiritually.

Der Weg ist das Ziel. The journey is the goal.
Jesus speaking: ‘It is written people don’t live on bread only , but by every word spoken by God.’ Matthew 4:4
Job speaking: ‘I have esteemed the words of God more than my necessary food.’ Job 23:12

Wer rastet, der rostet. He who rests grows rusty.
Paul: ‘With prayer and thanks let your requests be made known to God.’Philippians 4:16
And there is a whole story Jesus told with humour, in Luke 18 reminding us to say what we want as many times as we like and not give up.

Aller Anfang ist schiver. All beginnings are hard.
Jesus speaking:’ Go into all the world and preach the gospel.’

Tomaten auf den Augen haben. To have tomatoes on your eyes.
John speaking: ‘But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another. And the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.’ 1John 1:7
Jesus speaking: ‘Those who have my commandments and keep them, they are the ones that love me… and I will bring into reality clearly through actions Myself to them. ( I will manifest myself to them.) John 14:21

Die Kirche imDorflassen. Keep things in proportion.
The liberal person will be made fat: and he that waters will be watered themselves.
Proverbs 11:25
Jesus speaking: ‘Give and it will be given to you… ‘Luke 6:38

Zwei Fliegen mit einer Klappe schlagen. To hit two flies with one slap.
Take care of your health and guard your mental input. If you fall get up!
‘ Lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; and make straight paths for your feet, lest those who are lame be turned out of the way; but rather let them be healed.’
Hebrews 12:12,13

Take care,
Sandy 🙂
