This is a different post. Why? Because it has something about books and a walk this morning where I tried to capture the sound made by a Great Spotted Woodpecker then there is also a poem I wrote on 5 April 2022.
I will start with the books. I am reading John C Lennox God, AI & The end of History and I have read Ellen G. White The Great Controversy. I got up to pg 362 ‘Three angelic messages’ in Lennox’s book and started to wonder what the difference was between these two books. AI helped me and here is a summary in my own writing.

The verses I got up to in Revelations are here in the Bible.

I saw another angel fly in the middle of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to all nations and people of every language. This is the message say it with a loud voice, Fear God, and give to Him glory; for the hour of judgement has come: and worship Him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
The second angel says Babylon is fallen, that great city has fallen because it made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication (sin).
The third angel follows them saying in a loud voice if any person worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark, in his forhead, or in his hand, the same will…be destroyed by fire.
Revelations 14: 6- 10 ( some words left out by Sandy.)
The focus of John Lennox is Christian witness against totalitarian worship of power/state.
The focus of EG White is ” Present Truth” preparing for the close of probation.
She also uses a specific historical timeline where the second angel started in 1844 and the third is currently being preached. Lennox’s interpretation focuses on the spiritual recurring nature of these challenges before the return of Christ.
The two authors look at what we do to show allegiance. Sabbath, the keeping of the 4th Commandment the 7th day is seen as the defining ” seal of God” by EG White. Lennox focuses on the broader thematic choice of worshiping God rather than the state/system.
Worship for both authors is important.
I leave these two books with the last few sentences in each:
E.G White ( ladies first) 1840
‘ The great controversy is ended… From Him who created all, flow life and light…all things declare that God is love.’
J.C Lennox 2025
‘The warning against subtracting from or adding to the book of Revelation is necessary at a time of mounting biblical illiteracy…constant secular efforts to undermine the authenticity of Scripture…let us hold out to the end because ” He who testifies of these things says , ” Surely I am coming soon.” Revelations 22:20
A final prayer : ‘ The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.’
Roll on eternity.’
Two authors writing at different times filled with love for God and concern for us. Both books are an interesting read dealing with ancient yet relevant words for now.
Poem
I wrote this poem 5 April 2022
Our Earth an Eye
A sensitive eye
Looks through our eternity
In wonder spinning,
Spinning ,sea, ground
and sky.
Blue white grey, brown black grey,
RED
Our planet eye Earth
A beautiful eye in tears
Cry my Earth eye,
You are honest when you cry
Your blues, browns, greys
RED
How I long to wipe your
eternal sad eye.

Now those short time here bluebells…
The bluebells were a moving blue this morning so here they are in a picture and a video. As the video starts a Great Spotted Woodpecker, taps on a tree. Maybe you will hear it. A minutes walk in the bluebell woods.
Bess, our dog, is seen in shadow form as the video ends. She is pleased to find me and leads me back to Roy. The paths are numerous but she does very well.

Have a good time of day whenever you read this.
Take care,
Sandy 🙂
