Paul frequently prays for believers to grow spiritually. This is what he says in Philippians 1: 9-10.
I pray that your love will exist in large amounts, more and more with knowledge and with how you judge. That you may officially agree / approve about things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and not act illegally/unlawfully till the day of Christ. Being filled with the evidence of salvation which are fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus and give glory and praise to God.
These fruits are named by Paul in Galations 5:22-23 love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith.
The garden had sunshine yesterday morning when these photographs were taken. Look the grass daffodils have opened almost all at the same time and the tub in the shade with its jonquils is still to have its day of colour.

The grass daffidols with the four little brass pig chimes hanging on the old apple tree. All in bright morning sun. Then the wooden tub…

There is a story with this tub and now that I remember with the dog as well.
Sometimes sadness becomes dominant in the way we think and we become unwell. Sue, my late friend, was having a time like this. I can’t say we were happy either so we bought two tubs and some bulbs. I had just read about lasagna planting. Layers of bulbs placed in one pot. We did this, putting snowdrops on top and Sue got one and we kept one. We would all look forward to spring. This year I never picked the snow drops and I won’t pick the jonquils either as this is the first spring without Sue.
Today ours bloom for us to see. Rest in peace dear Sue. Jesus says: ‘ Surely I come quickly.’ Revelations 22:20
Now what about the jackrussel ornament next to the tub? It was a gift to my inlaws from me. They had Jackie a jackrussel dog that lived with them for 17 years and I gave the ornament to them while they were living in Yorkshire. They put it by their fireplace. Jackie then came to live with them near us. A beloved little dog that spent time on warm laps during cold winters. The ornament stayed in the new house next to the fireplace and then Jackie died. Dad Brian then disliked it. He said ‘ I don’t like that mouth open and it looking at me.’ He put it outside. Dad passed and I put it outside. Here it has been since then…
A tub and a Jackie. A garden has stories…
Yeterday afternoon, I brought in the daffidols that lay on the grass and they were quite a bunch and thinking about fallen stems here is a joy. The seeds from the fallen sunflower, a post by that name have germinated. Lots more sunflowers this year 2026. Maybe?

The stems of the brought in daffidols. A good bunch.

The seeds from summer 2025’s very large sunflower. The one that sadly fell flat on its face and was held up by a dead shrub have germinated. I am more than pleased.
Here are two thoughts with that word approve:
‘ A person cannot be comfortable without their own approval.’ Mark Twain
And
‘ I much prefer the sharpest criticism of a single intelligent person than the thoughtless approval of the masses.’
J Kepler
Take care wherever you are,
Sandy 🙂
Spring is upon your garden. We have snow drops and crocuses but we’re still quite cold. 1°C this morning when I woke up. Take care.
Today, has less sun but the daffidols are out! A happy time for the garden pity about the world!
We’ve not seen daffodils emerging as yet, so I am loving yours, Sandy!
Thank you. Ours have all come out together with little sun sadly they may soon be gone. Glad you are enjoying them.
