The garden. Can it be the same?
Old/same boundaries, trees, built beds, plants.
No it can’t be the same!
New/different stalks and stems, leaves and flowers.
Different deaths, different ‘waitings’
Different ‘plant chosen’ placings or gardener placings of plants.
Different ‘weathers’ , their order and severity
Pests, disease and mold all old their order and severity new, the same or different.
Can the garden ever be exactly the same?
No!
But same enough to bring moments of deep nostalgia linking five years ago with today.
Yes, the mind and the garden are the same/different,
New and old.
A personal eternity.

I have let this post travel with my own thoughts but then here is Psalm 46 interspersed with a few photographs of our own garden this morning.
‘ God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains are carried into the sea. Though the waters roar and are troubled, though the mountains shake with swelling of them.

There is a river, the streams of it will make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. God is in the middle of her, she will not be moved: God will help her, and that right early.

The heathen rage, the kingdoms were moved, He uttered His voice, the earth melted. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.
Come, look at the works of the LORD, what desolation He has made in the earth. He makes wars to stop, He breaks the bow, and cuts the spear to pieces, He burns the chariot in the fire.

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the Earth.

The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.’
Psalm 48
Our God and our garden. The old, the same. New and different. An eternity of thought and deep affection.
Take care,
Sandy 🙂
I then listened to this. A Mighty Fortress is our God.
I’m just catching up on your posts–always a blessing! Thanks, Sandy!
I understand you are so faithful with reading and sharing yourself so kindly. Always so appreciated. May all that is in our world leave you at peace with your strong trust in God.
