It is so important to have, friends/family/partner. Companionship. Ecclesiastes 4: 9 -12
Solomon speaking: ‘Two are better than one, they have a good reward for work, they have someone to help them when they fall…’
A vow before God makes the two three: ‘ and a twisted cord of three is painful and difficult to break.’
Some of Sandy’s wording because today is our Wedding anniversary. This post will look at the streets of Stamford. A peek into the oldest tearoom, a book signing, two jokes and a painting, I can’t afford but in this space I dedicate it to my husband of 47 years. Then there is a surprise bunch of flowers for me.
The town is yellow against grey clouds building tall in the sky. Can you see the town’s four church steeples as we cross the Meadows? Come with us in my photographs.

The other two are clear to see on this October midday walk.
Central Cafe and tea rooms are our next stop. The oldest café was once part of a 15th-century great wool house and has been established since the turn of the 18th century. Let’s go inside…

A street with a laugh. Good to make people see the shop!

Here is one of the jokes written on the chalkboard:
Human body speaking: I can create a full human in 9 months – brain, lungs, eyeballs everything.
Me: Cool! How long till my sprained ankle heals?
Body: About 7 years and it will never feel right again.
Then into a book shop and there was an author signing her newly published children’s books.
The author’s dog which features in her books, her husband and wearing the yellow jacket Elaine Slade are all in the photograph. With bonfire night coming soon I was happy to buy a signed copy of ‘ Don’t be scared Charley Farley.’

Back in the street and there was so much more. An Art shop, I mean a shop full of art. This is where I saw what I wanted for Roy my husband of 37 years.

I can’t afford this but in this space,
I dedicate it to
Roy my husband
of
47- years.
We travel a lot and sometimes in a city when we cycle I am more interested in looking at people and happenings that I don’t follow well. Once two ladies looked at me and said: ” Are you lost? Do you need directions?”
I said, ” I’ve lost my husband!”
They said: “Can you phone him?”
My phone had previously fallen out of my pocket so I had asked Roy to carry it.
No, I didn’t have a phone. I didn’t know where we were parked and no, I couldn’t remember his number.
Just then Roy appeared. I was more than happy I think I had a few unexpected tears.
So where are we? In this post in the streets of Stamford on our wedding anniversary.
Still together.
I am not lost but with a bunch of flowers.

‘ Love grows more tremendously full, swift, poignant, as the years.’ Zake Grey
Here are two more thoughts:
‘ We are not the same persons this year as last, nor are those we love. It is a happy chance (I say choice) if we, changing, continue to love a changed person.’
Somerset Mingham
And
‘ May you live as long as you wish and love as long as you live.’
Take care,
Sandy 🙂
