Coombe Gibbet

Scenes from where we have been before. Where was that? When was that? That ‘ before ‘was when the weather was wet and the wind blew. Today it is dry but the wind is there and clips the trees and grass. We are walking on the Sabbath about four miles to Coombe Gibbet.

The Gibbett still stands but the story has been told already.
The people, those you walk with, are they still the same?
Yes and no!
Some are, some aren't.
So why do you want to do these miles again?
Here is why...

The sun that will give the Harvest moon its glory is full. No clouds are holding back its glory. The grasses combed by the breeze into the distant lower fields and the distance, always more distance, carry the shine of the sun much further than you think it possibly can.

There is a puddle formed on the chalk for a reflection and a gate to rest your elbows on and gaze.

Is it different?

That depends on you. What has been between ‘the then’ and the time of now? How have your thoughts changed you? They will change how you see this special place.

Always questions. I know my answers, you may not because it is not your familiar space.

Places, always spaces but you make them significant to you.

A place of prayer. It is a space for God. He likes that very much. ‘Taste and know that He is good.’ Psalms 34: 8.

Take care,

Sandy 🙂
