Jesus speaking: ‘ You must love the Lord your God with all your heart/emotions, with all your soul/the energy of your body made by breathing air?, and your mind/intelligence .’ Sandy trying to think.
This is the first commandment.
But how?
‘ And the second is like the first, You must love the other person like you love yourself.’
It reads well in Matthew 22: 37-40 as words Jesus spoke.
But how?
The 10 commandments are hooked on these two. First 4 on one hook answering how. Exodus 20: 1-7 The second 6 on the other answering how. Exodus 20: 8 -17
Obedience to this. How ?
Jesus speaking: ‘ If you love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray to the Father and He will give you the Comforter, that He may stay/live/ abide in you for ever. Even the Spirit of truth.’ John 14: 15,16,17 a bit.
Amazing! Strange! Odd! A challenge! Something to taste and see that God is good.
Now the garden flowers that I picked early.
I picked them that way so as not to disturb the others on the plant.
There were more in my hand so I left some in the mug and then smiled at the mug I had picked up!
I was thinking about this Autumn 2025 after seeing this tree in Dorchester and reading that some of our trees were not going into early autumn but rather were dry-leafed because of not enough water.
So here are my thoughts:
What if Autumn loved Spring and Summer?
Could Autumn care if Spring and Summer felt overshadowed?
If their number of days was shortened
their area of influence narrowed?
Could they care if their fruits were taken before they were ready to be ripe
Their life ignored for the joy of Autumns great love of abundance?
How does the other season feel?
How will the other seasons have a future understanding of love in abundance be understood?
How is the other affected?
By Autumn's all-sweeping intelligent knowledge of I?
How I feel?
How I respond?
How I develop?
How I change?
With Autumn's questions short and strong in mind
Who AM I?
NOT
Who are you?
Are you finding your life through the seasons?
If so how?
Have you developed more hope, more trust, more seasonal joy through the year?
Autumn you are here today go gently as you treat Summer, as Summer treated Spring and your overabundant desire for self does not ignore the strength needed for Spring after the long cold sleep of winter.

calendulas yellow and orange,
yarrow bright pink,
saxophage purple,
sedum going pink.
Too many for one vase or even for two to let them be properly seen.
Today there are gusts of wind and by the clouds there will be sun and rain. A cold feel that Autumn is here.
