‘ God will keep people in perfect peace, whose minds are fixed on Him.’ Isaiah 26:3

Today it was the reds, oranges, yellows and blues that sat amongst the green under a grey sky.
Look at this Hibiscus as big as a man’s hand.

The vegetable garden was filled with the large heart-shaped leaves of squashes of different varieties covering the ground and climbing metal arches. The cutting flower garden which had been an area of open land was also hiding large yellow pumpkins and their great flowers.

Where spring cherry blossom and tulips were there were now red hot pokers and … The wisteria no longer carries purple flowers but below the arches is thickly planted tall pink cosmos.

The cosmos must have thrived during our weeks of heat here in July.
There was so much brightness and beauty on a warm, grey August day when I noticed something small but significant written on a notice board.

An idea they are trying to promote and one I want to try.

It softened the edges in a different yet pleasant wave of welcome amongst the lower plants.
It was a joy to spend time amongst the borders. August, the month that is the border between summer and autumn. A rich time of colour.
Here is some of its richness and my enjoyment of the blunt-petaled white Cosmos.

I hope your week is good.
Sandy 🙂
Thank you, you too. Stay safe in the coming storm 🙏💞
The trees are so heavy with leaves. I hope they are spared.
This garden is so beautiful!
Yes, everyone works so hard. The volunteer guide who took a group of us for an hour free of charge was informative, enthusiastic and so I have done a second post, now.
