Here are five photographs with some explanations. Between the photographs are some quotes.
Here is a short explanation of why I have chosen the title ‘Roots.’ During our past 60 days away I found that now and then I photographed roots and now on our return we were privileged to listen to an enthusiastic speaker. His enthusiasm came from change. He started as an actor and did all the bits for that then COVID came and he thoroughly went into the study of conservation and the needs of our wild creatures insects and in particular mammals. He then did an MA in what he had found to be his new passion and now looks after a considerable amount of green spaces in this area. His presentation showed his first love of acting by the use of his voice and his ability to keep our attention. This allowed his second passion to shine brighter.
At question time this was the question that I was happy to hear:
‘Why are there metal bar fences around the trees in the meadow? ‘
Answer: ‘ We want these to be venerable oaks, the roots are being protected from being mowed over.’
I am pleased.

A Doxology from the New Testament of the Bible of which I quote only a part in my words:
‘ I don’t want you to faint because of my bad times but because of this I kneel to God and ask the Father of us all to give us strength that through Christ the Spirit may be in us so that we are rooted and grounded in love.’ Sandy’s summary of Ephesians 4: 13-17

No protection.
‘ Imagination is at the root of much that passes for love.’
Gilbert Parker.

‘ Compassion, in which all ethics must take root, can only attain its full breadth and depth if it embraces all living creatures and does not limit itself to mankind.’
Albert Schweitzer

‘Fear of something is at the root of hate for others, and within will eventually destroy the hater.’
George Washington Carver
And here is a thought from the Old Testament of the Bible.
‘Blessed is the person who trusts the LORD. For they will be like a tree planted by water, that spreads its roots by the river and when there is drought the leaves will be green and it will still provide fruit.’

Sandy 🙂
Love that scripture and love roots 💗
It is helpful. Keep an eye open for roots in distress.🙂
Love this post. Deep thoughts and so true!
Thank you. Look for roots and help them by not taking away what they need.
A beautiful post, Sandy. Roots are very amazing. They do their work unseen for the most part until something brings them to the surface!
Interesting comment! The reason?
A storm or and excavation may tear them out!
How true. Thank you!
Thank you for your kind comment.
You are very welcome!
Lovely. Drawing nutrients from the true vine and having our roots deeply planted in Christ. 😊❤️
Thank you, Anneta. I didn’t see this. Yes, stay rooted in Jesus no matter what.
Amen 🙏🏾
