Bobbio Pellice

Some Bible verses about prophecy.

Amos a prophet speaking when Israel was prosperous and at its peak of power during the time of Jeroboam II. This is what he said:

‘ Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.’

Amos 3:7-8

Then God speaks using Jeremiah’s voice:’ Call to me, and I will answer and show you great things which you don’t know.’

Jeremiah 33:3

Then Moses’ voice is heard: ‘ The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us.’

Deuteronomy 29:29

‘God gives people the power to discriminate between right and wrong. God designs that people decide not from impulse, but from the weight of evidence, carefully comparing scripture with scripture. ‘

Let us look at this village where the Waldensians took safety.

The position of Bobbio Pellice in the Piedmont area. These valleys are known for the Waldensians,
a Bible-loving group persecuted
for a prophesied period of 1260 years.

Looking up at the mountains I was drawn to the lemon colour on the trees. I thought at first it was leaves but soon I saw they were flowers.

I knew the nuts were nutritious, containing the majority of vitamins, particularly the B group, but listening to a presentation, it was now thought that the leaves have a powerful substance to treat MRSA bacteria. ( Methicillin Staphylococcus aureus)

This tree was planted by the Romans wherever they went, some can live from 400 to 2,000 years.  A gift to those living in the valleys for 1 260 years.

The village is a quiet, pleasant place with a market on Tuesday morning in this square I photographed from a small café.

We enjoyed our time here.

Here is a quote about chestnuts I hadn’t read before:

‘ It is splendid to be a great writer, to put men (people) into the frying pan of your words and make them pop like chestnuts.’

Gustave Flaubert

And this one,too.

‘ Watchfulness is the only guard against cunning. Be intent on their intentions. Many succeed in making others do their own affairs, and unless you possess the key to their motives you may at any moment be forced to take their chestnuts out of the fire to the damage of your own fingers.’

Baltasar Gracia

I will always remember these mountains. I looked at them at different times of day and found them enchanting.

This is what I watched Chetnuts.

We are travelling on.

Take care,

Sandy 🙂
