Jesus said something: ‘ It will be more difficult for a rich man to get to heaven than for a camel to get through the eye of a needle. ‘ Mark 10: 25 The eye of the needle was the name for a small gate going into Jerusalem. Sandy says: ‘ To depend on money and not the righteousness of Christ won’t get you a relationship with your Creator.’

After cycling for about 12 km following the river up into the town, we are going to look for small metal elephants pressed into the pavements. Where will these lead?
Here are some of the streets broad and modern, narrow 14th Century cobbled, and take care wherever you stand eyes are watching. There are some paintings in a courtyard with three-D effects, please ignore the stacked rubbish, that will be collected soon. At last, we get to the fountain, the column and a statue. What of? Elephants.
This was built in 1838 to pay tribute to General de Boigne a major benefactor of Chambéry, his native town.
Let us do this in photographs. Press on the photographs sometimes I am surprised.

the fountain, column and statue.
The cycle back to the park up on the lake allows for time to enjoy watching the river cascade over rocks. There is very little need to pedal. A good 24 km / 15 miles all together.
Here are some thoughts about elephants:
‘ Nature’s great masterpiece, an elephant; the only harmless great thing.’ John Donne
‘ I feel like if there’s an elephant in the room, I’d really like to start off by introducing the elephant in the room. And sometimes it is funny.’ Louis Theroux
And here is something novel as we started with a camel here is something said about love and an elephant:
‘ Love will draw an elephant through a keyhole.’
Samuel Richardson
Take care,
Sandy 🙂
