A Sabbath walk on paths around Turvile.

God speaking to a ruler/ king:

‘ I will go before you and make the crooked places straight.’

Then this: ‘ …the strength of a nation , as of  individuals, is not found in the opportunities or facilities that appear to make them invincible,  it is not found in their boasted greatness. It is measured by the fidelity with which they fulfil God’s purpose.’

E G White

God speaking: ‘ Ask me about things concerning the works of my hands. I have made the earth and created people on it . I even my hands have stretched out the heavens and all the host of them.’( I read Isaiah 45 and found parts really humorous but then summarised verses 1,2 and 12. Read it for yourself.)

It is easy to think of God in such surroundings as we were in today.

We have walked here many times. Today, we walked four miles. Here are  three photographs that give an idea of the greens, the blue of the sky, and the dry dirt paths.

We walked along paths near fences, as seen in these three photographs. Grass has gone to seed, parsley flowers are in bloom, while leaves and stalks of teal in colour cover dry dirt from fence to hills.

Let’s travel with the word fence:

‘Fear is the highest fence.’

Dudley Nichols

‘The gardener uses both roses in the flower bed and thorns in making fences.’

Hazard Inayat Khan

‘ Build a little fence of trust around today; Fill the space with loving deeds, and therein stay.’

Mary Butts

‘ If you see a turtle on top of a fence post, know it was put there.’ Unknown

Notice how well the leaves have spread thick shade yet are still in clean spring green.

It has been a beautiful Sabbath.

Take care,

Sandy 🙂
